CHILL Gas are delighted to announce they are now a member of the Living Wage Foundation.
The Living Wage Foundation was established to campaign for the idea that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Since it's creation over 250,000 employees have received a pay rise as a result of the Living Wage campaign with 7,000 UK businesses voluntarily paying their staff the additional rate.
"As the first Plumbing and Heating company in Northern Ireland to sign up to the Living Wage Foundation, we are excited and extremely proud. Our staff are at the forefront of our business and without them there would be no CHILL Gas therefore we want to ensure they always receive fair remuneration for their hard work."
- Operations Director, Carl Hill.
The Real Living Wage currently stands at £9.50, £1.30 more than the National Minimum Wage and is calculated according to what employees and their families need to live.
"The real Living Wage rates are higher because they are independently-calculated based on what people need to get by. That's why we encourage all employers that can afford to do so to ensure their employees earn a wage that meets the costs of living, not just the government minimum."
A huge congratulations to the team for another fantastic step forward!
